Deep Clean is where most of our bookings land — it's the right call for a grill that's cooked all summer without a real cleaning, or one you're getting ready for a season of regular use. It involves actually taking the grill apart, not just cleaning around the pieces.

Grill grates and heat shields fully disassembled and laid out for degreasing during a Deep Clean

Tools we use

  • Commercial portable steam cleaner — our primary degreasing tool at this tier. High-temperature steam breaks down months of baked-on grease on contact, chemical-free.
  • Coil brush and metal scraper — used after steaming to lift loosened carbon off grates that steam alone won't fully clear.
  • Detail brush — small enough to clear individual burner ports without widening them.
  • Shop vacuum — for ash, loose carbon, and debris pulled out during disassembly.
  • Pumice stone — for the rare spot of heavy carbon crust that steam and brushing alone won't fully lift.

Our process

  1. Full disassembly — grates, heat shields or flavorizer bars, and where accessible, burners come out.
  2. Steam and scrub — every disassembled piece gets steamed to break down months of buildup, then scrubbed back to bare metal.
  3. Firebox degreasing — the interior walls and floor, which normally hold months of buildup, get steamed and wiped fully clean.
  4. Burner port clearing — each port checked and cleared individually for even flame.
  5. Grease tray and drain — fully emptied, steam-cleaned, and checked for any clogs in the drain path.
  6. Reassembly and flame test — everything goes back together and we light it to confirm even burners before we leave.

Steam-based cleaning means nothing gets left behind on surfaces that touch your food — no chemical smell, no residue that could smoke off during your next cook.

How to avoid needing this as often

  • Don't let more than a season pass between cleanings — see our cleaning frequency guide for a realistic schedule.
  • Empty the grease tray between deep cleans; it's the fastest way buildup restarts.
  • Book a Basic Clean mid-season to keep light buildup from becoming heavy buildup.

If it's been longer than a year, or there's visible rust, a Deep Clean alone may not fully bring it back — that's what our Premium Restoration tier is for.
